Saturday…Kitten update, green harvest, the boondoggle effect, and cyber warfare

May 19th, 2007 · 2 Comments

Friday…Baltimore, legislative disclosures, travel policy, and friday’s feline

May 18th, 2007 · 1 Comment

If you read yesterday’s entry and couldn’t find the link to the U.S. News report on American Water, you weren’t alone. But I eventually got that link fixed, so don’t hesitate to try again.
After spending last weekend in Baltimore, I couldn’t help noticing a proposal to allow emergency imposition of “public safety act zones” giving [...]

Thursday, con’t…kitten rescue, Mazie at the DNC, & American Water

May 17th, 2007 · 1 Comment

There’s still a large empty lot that slopes up from that dead end of Kekio to the corner of Lihimauna [...]

Actually, we were heading downtown to walk around the Inner Harbor area and ended up being something like the third car blocked at the corner as the parade arrived [...]

May 16th, 2007 · 1 Comment

Aha.
Several people report the problem of the main content getting pushed down the page seems to primarily occur with Internet Explorer Version 6.
Others using Windows XP with alternative browsers, including Explorer 7, say that they don’t have the same problem.
So one solution is to update your browser.
Meanwhile, I’ve been pointed to the WordPress support forums, [...]

Technical help needed!

May 15th, 2007 · 3 Comments

Some readers report seeing a big blank space at the top of this page where the day’s entry should be.
I was finally able to replicate the problem viewing the site with Internet Explorer running in Windows XP via Parallels on a MacBook Pro. Sure enough, the daily entries, the main body of the page, are [...]

Tuesday/ Campaigning prosecutor, public records column, Molokai, Hilo, etc.

May 14th, 2007 · 1 Comment

After mentioning the Supreme Court finding earlier this year that City Prosecutor Peter Carlisle did not have the authority to spend public funds advocating a specific vote on a ballot question, a reader called attention to a bill pending before the City Council to specifically authorize such spending.
Bill 45 (2007) is on the council agenda [...]
