The Honolulu Advertiser story a couple of days ago about “garage burglaries” in Ewa Beach sounded quite familiar. We’ve had several similar waves of garage thefts here in Kaaawa over the past couple of years, and have personally been hit three times. Most of the thefts in Kaaawa have occurred in the early morning hours, although some happened at night. These thieves seem to favor those very dark nights when they can roam without being seen. I’m glad to see that community organizing to deal with the problem, since the police don’t seem to be able to do much to stop this kind of crime.

Aquarium

We spent part of Wednesday afternoon shepherding our favorite twins through the Waikiki Aquarium on a pre-birthday outing (today is their birthday). We hadn’t visited the aquarium in years, and it is a very impressive and entertaining facility. The exhibits are wonderful, the collections impressive, and the information flow, including individual audio tours, kept the girls mesmerized. Although small, the Waikiki Aquarium makes big impression! Highly recommended.

This Friday’s featured feline isn’t one from our household. Terror is part of a duo (dubbed Terror & Destruction) adopted as kittens by a friend of ours several years ago. Here’s are some earlier photos, including a shot of the two as kittens. They have grown into fine cats. Although we haven’t witnessed their antics, I’m told that they still get cranked up and wild during playtime.

So, would you go so far as to say it is, in Jeff Stone’s once parlance, a “World Class Aquatium?” :)

This is totally off topic, but I tried to email you and the message bounced back and said that your address had permanent fatal errors. It also said, “reason: 553 blocked, See: http://www.spamcannibal.org/cannibal.cgi?page=lookup&lookup=66.75.162.136

Are other people having problems emailing you?

The reason I was emailing you was to let you know that I found a hilarious website that I thought you’d enjoy… http://icanhascheezburger.com

People take pictures of animals and caption them with the thoughts of the animal. Most of the pictures are of cats.

I thought you and Meda would enjoy the site.

    Take care!
