Check out the counter at the upper left. As of 9 a.m. Saturday morning, it’s just several hundred visitors short of 1.4 million. That represents the number of times readers have checked out this daily blog. I know that there are blogs that get 1.4 million visits a day. That keeps me humble.

A school bus carrying students from public schools in Kahuku back to the Kaaawa area crashed into a car which had stopped to make a turn from the highway, according to police reports and parents.
