Part 2: The Boys

Our "Tom" cats are pretty domesticated. Buster, who we lost to skin cancer earlier this year, was the last one with any experience fighting, so we're not too sure how these guys will defend the turf. Time will tell.

Lindsey is now the oldest, rescued as a kitten in 1993 from the McDonald's in Laie, another 13 miles up the coast. He was one of the stars of the Star-Bulletin's 1996 Christmas card--that's him peeking out from the bottom of the window at the bird outside. We still think of him as a kitten, although he'll be eight soon.

Lindsey roams more than any of our other cats. His range doesn't extend more than one or two houses in any direction, and he's been known to march into our neighbors' houses to check out their food, but probably spends most of his time hanging out next door with Pilikia and Anna Banana, our neighbor's two cats, both females.

We found Leo on Fathers Day 1999 while on our morning walk. From his features and his loud voice, we're pretty sure that he's part Siamese.

He's aspiring to the role of Alpha Male, but he's got quite a long way to go.

In the meantime, he's decided that he really likes Harry and Lizzie, and the three of them play for hours each day.

And this is Silverman, who adopted our household in September 1999 while we were on a trip. He's gotten tame enough to let us handle him, but he still spends most of his time between meals outside unless it's raining.

He's a beauty, with a silver coat and blue eyes.
