Kahala--new versus old

This is a recent view of my parents' back yard in old Kahala. Their modest 1940 vintage house will soon be surrounded on both sides by huge two-story homes. First the neighbors built the wall, and then recently demolished the existing home and started on a structure designed to dwarf its neighbors.
