After a night of hearvy rain

Sunday, November 4, 2007

1
Waterfall behind Kaaawa from the Kaneohe end of Haahaa Street.
2
Flooding along the end of Kekio Road behind the post office is obvious from this vantage point on Lihimauna Road. Note the new steel-frame homes going up.
3
Kaaawa's Engine 21 was already pumping on Polinalina Road between Hauhele and Linimauna.
4
5
Remember the banana patch at the top end of Hiiaka Road? The bananas are long gone, as is the hillside, now being excavated to create another house lot.
6
Corner of Kekio Road and Hiiaka.

9
Waterfalls visible from the 7-11 Store.
10
Probably not the best weekend for camping.

Those waterfalls end up in Makaua Stream. I was standing next to the bridge on Kamehameha Highway for this photo.

Makaua Stream after about seven hours of rain.

Another view from the bridge. On the left is the area washed out during the flooding in March 2006.

Makaua Stream behind the homes on Kaaawa Park Lane.

Suddenly there was a little stream under the banyan tree on the lower side of our property.

Huamalani Road in front of our banyan and part of the Great Wall of Tonga, as we have come to call it.
