| A small glass fishing float, the kind that formerly kept huge nets on Japanese fishing boats from sinking to the bottom. Now these glass balls occasionally wash to shore, where they are prized finds. We've probably found a couple of dozen over the years that we've walked on the beach in the mornings, including one about the size of a volleyball that was stolen when we made the mistake of displaying it on our front deck.
