| This was my mother's chair, the place from which she orchestrated daily life at home. She kept all of her essentials nearby, either on the small folding table in front of her chair, in the baskets on her right, or over on the table with lamp to the left, where she put her coffee cup or glass of water, even sometimes a little wine.
