A smaller group of Ann's friends then adjourned to her house on the heights for a few more minutes of sharing and celebrating her memory. Bob Potter, center, arrived at the University of Hawaii just a couple of years before Ann and taught with her in the College of Education for years.

Now that I think of it, not quite 24 hours later, I don't know whether anyone prepared a martini for Ann last night. If not, Ann, please forgive us. We're still in shock and not thinking totally clearly.
