| Somehow Meda made it into the center of this rowdy crowd and directly challenged Basso, with Larry Jones and his tape recorder running. It wasn't yet a mob, but was headed in that direction. The expressions on the faces of onlookers are telling, and remind me of the crowds seen in old photographs of Southern lynchings. For that reason, I find it a compelling photo. |
