Inside the Governor's MailboxMarch 2008 -Ian Lind (www.iLind.net) |
| In early 2008, I accepted an invitation to join the Sunshine Bloggers Project in requesting email records from Gov. Linda Lingle's office. This was part of an attempt to get bloggers across the country involved in comparable requests.
The response, which was received in 30 days, included thousands of email messages on a compact disk and a printed "privilege log" listing the dates, subjects, and other information about hundreds of additional messages that were not disclosed. The legal reason claimed to justify nondisclosure was given for each message. One warning: these pdf files are quite large, so expect delays if you have a slow Internet connection. Have fun browsing, and please respond with descriptions of any interesting things you find among the many emails (send mail to ian(at)ilind.net). To view email from the mailboxes of the members of Gov. Lingle's staff, just click on the appropriate link in the list of names below. Meanwhile, here are links to entries on iLind.net as this sunshine project developed.
