In addition to showing her support on the street, Former Lt. Gov. Jean King is one of the plaintiffs in the citizens' lawsuit to block Gannett and Liberty Newspapers from closing the Star-Bulletin.
Supporters from a number of different groups, including the Seafarers International Union and the Laborers, joined the Newspaper Guild and the ILWU in a small showing of labor solidarity.
Individuals hoping to retain Honolulu's status as a two-newspaper city were also there.
