| There's a story here. Duke used to have to sleep on an old, soiled and smelly little rug in front of the screen door, until one day Meda brought home a treat--a brand new, fresh, nice smelling little doormat. And did he like it? No way. Duke avoided it like the plague. He would sleep right alongside, as close as he could get to his favorite spot without actually touching that awful new thing. A month probably went by before the new wore off and it developed a suitable patina of smells--feet, dirt, cat vomit, rat parts, dust, rain splatter, loose fur, and a sprinkling of pee. Now it's been fully rehabilitated and he's back to being a happy cat. |
