These familiar characters are Ms. Maile and Mr. Axel. We run into the big guy out on the beach every weekday morning, and Ms. Maile is gets there around the same time on many days. The two of them have some kind of dog relationship. Sometimes they play. Sometimes they just sniff and watch for disgusting things to pick up from the sand. It's a dog's life.
