On June 7, just a week before the BOR's scheduled meeting to discuss the evaluation of then-President Evan Dobelle, he was on the mainland but holdling competing reservations for the days in question. One reservation took him directly from Chicago to Honolulu and back June 14-16. The other would have taken him to meetings of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges scheduled in San Jose on June 17-18.
