Just want to say what I have
said since I came to UH a decade ago that I filled Ann's
line in our department, but not her shoes. Yes, there were
several lunches and a couple of opportunities to watch
fireworks from her lanai. She was the ever gracious hostess
and keen intellect. I recall her wonderful retirement party
and her delight in the beautiful Niihau shell necklace. What
a lady, what a dame!
