Another anniversary & birthday

August 15-17, 2007

Every year it's the same thing. Our anniversary comes first, followed by Ian's birthday two days later. But we aren't very good at celebrating, so every year we wonder how we will manage to observe these auspicious occasions. Every year it's an adventure.

17
The Honolulu Academy of Art's Pavillion Cafe, another favorite spot for both of us.
18
They were busy but managed to accommodate us after only a short wait.
19
After lunch, a bit of art with just a hint of self-reflection.
20
Always interesting art to see.
21
Across the street, would it be the Lamborghini showroom or the Goodwill Store?
22
If you guessed Goodwill, you've figured out our values.
23
I even found two books for 99 cents each, including a collection of those great center column essays from the front pages of the Wall Street Journal.
24
On the way back to the car, another glimpse of ourselves, then on to the next stop.
25
Our friend Julie at Antique Alley had visited iLind.net and knew it was our anniversary, so she was expecting our visit. Meda even found a little something to take home.
26
27
Then a stop for miscellaneous provisions before heading home. Are we easy to please or what?
28
I couldn't find an anniversary balloon, but "Bounce back soon!" seemed somehow appropriate.
29
Our accumulated swag.
30
After a nap, the news, and a glass of wine, dinner. The theme escaped me until the last minute, then the freezer offered up braised chicken breasts and peppers, rice, a dish of pickies and a bottle of champaigne.
31
Just another view.
32
Good enough to eat.
