Hawaii before the crowds Photos from the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s Photographs by Helen Lind & Ian Lind I recently dug out several boxes of slides buried in an almost inaccessible corner of a storage room at my parents' home in Honolulu. The photos were taken by my mother over a period of years. She's now age 94, and these slides had been stored in Hawaii's hot and sometimes humid climate for fifty years, suffering somewhat as a result. But I'll be scanning those that survived and will add them to my own collection of photos of Hawaii in the 1960s and 1970s. |
