Another anniversary & birthday

August 15-17, 2007

Every year it's the same thing. Our anniversary comes first, followed by Ian's birthday two days later. But we aren't very good at celebrating, so every year we wonder how we will manage to observe these auspicious occasions. Every year it's an adventure.

1
Anniversary #38 started early. We were out the door for our walk to the beach just a few minutes after 6 a.m..
2
The operative word was "damp", and we were glad to have umbrellas as well as camera and dog biscuits.
3
This very happy duck has its own pool and a special meal every morning. He, or she, almost always greets us with a happy wag of its tail.
4
There's a little video that goes with this, but I have to figure out how to set it up to play here.
5
Kaaawa is beautiful in the rain.
6
Back home, coffee and the stuff of morning.
7
Ms. Kitten was still here to help us celebrate.
8
Duke and Ms. Wally were hanging around despite the kitten's presence.
9
And Leo stopped by for a scoop of his favorite cat food.
10
Then we were off on an anniversary run. First stop at VCA in Kaneohe for two kinds of cat food.
11
Then back in the car and over the Pali, where the remnants of the one-time hurricane known as Flossie made things a bit wet.
12
Then a suprise stop at Celia's Gift and Gourmet, one of my favorite spots. You always know something in the store will surprise you, as will Celia's knowledge of the eclectic inventory.
13
We ended up with some antioxidant bars and, again, two kinds of cat food. Oh, and a pound of Double French coffee, which is roasted double dark.
14
On the way to the bank, we ran into an old friend. "Wish us a happy anniversary, Matt!" Of course, he did.
15
Next we tried for lunch at the State Art Museum, but they were full. We declined the take out menu.
16
Back to pick up the car at Alii Place and off to lunch possibility #2.
